Claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant - Karl Popper

By Emmie Cromwell - It’s difficult to explain in words why exactly I rate George Soros’ creep factor higher than those of his Globalist counterparts, except to say that studying his philanthropic activity is like immersing myself in a suffocating fog. There are no, ‘save the bunnies’ charitable provisions.
With a nearly palpable darkness spilling off the pages of his foundations’ charitable listings, I decided it necessary to learn a little more about Soros. This is how I came to learn about the supposedly well-revered and widely known scientific philosopher, Karl Popper.
Soros wrote a forward in the One-Volume Edition of Popper’s book, ‘The Open Society and its Enemies,’ in which he notes that Popper tutored him for a time when enrolled at the London School of Economics in the late 1940s.
Considering that George Soros named his philanthropic empire the Open Society Foundation, it seems reasonable to deduce that Popper had a great deal of influence on his student. Therefore, I figured it may be helpful to learn about this beloved philosopher.
Refreshing as it would be to study someone whose favorite books have some sort of entertainment level, I have taken on the challenge of exposing a group of people who are painfully narcissistic, nauseatingly serious, and who possess a high level of intellectual snobbery that leads to an affinity for philosophical books like, ‘The Open Society and its Enemies.’
Reluctantly, I overpaid for this publication on Kindle, but managed to stay awake long enough to learn about Popper’s ‘Paradox of Tolerance.’
Being that this book was first released in 1945, Popper’s idea of what should and should not be tolerated may have seemed intuitive. Unfortunately, those assumptions are a bit more subjective in present day. Current observation suggests that irrational arguments are often portrayed as rational. If this continues to the point where one is required to tolerate murder, will those who do not submit to this demand become the intolerant criminals, while murderers become tolerant victims?
Perhaps Popper didn’t anticipate his ideas being interpreted as they have by the young George Soros, in the 1940s. Could Karl Popper have known that he was teaching someone who would, one day, become a powerfully destructive influence on the world?
Karl Popper’s ‘Paradox of tolerance':
“Unlimited tolerance must lead to the disappearance of tolerance. If we extend unlimited tolerance even to those who are intolerant, if we are not prepared to defend a tolerant society against the onslaught of the intolerant, then the tolerant will be destroyed, and tolerance with them.—In this formulation, I do not imply, for instance, that we should always suppress the utterance of intolerant philosophies; as long as we can counter them by rational argument and keep them in check by public opinion, suppression would certainly be most unwise. But we should claim the right to suppress them if necessary even by force, for it may easily turn out that they are not prepared to meet us on the level of rational argument, but begin by denouncing all argument; they may forbid their followers to listen to rational argument, because it is deceptive, and teach them to answer arguments by the use of their fists or pistols. We should therefore claim, in the name of tolerance, the right not to tolerate the intolerant. We should claim that any movement preaching intolerance places itself outside the law, and we should consider incitement to intolerance and persecution as criminal, in the same way as we should consider incitement to murder, or to kidnapping, or to the revival of the slave trade, as criminal.”
Interesting. Sounds exactly like what liberals do all over the country. Instead of engaging in tolerant debate they shut down everyone who disagrees with them, ending Debate by force or by shouting down with accusations such as Nazi or racist.
