By Emmie Cromwell - On September 19, 2019 The Bill and Melinda Gates foundation invested $55,000,000 in BioNTech for tuberculosis, HIV and infectious disease vaccine research. Only a few months later, COVID-19 and a partnership with Pfizer helped BioNTech’s mRNA technology emerge from it’s head-scratching, never-ending research stage and into the arms of people all over the world.
Here is the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation 990-PF for 2019. This shows proof of their $55,000,000 investment in BioNTech.
Additionally, I have included the beginning of a letter agreement from the BioNTech 20-F SEC report for the year ending December 31, 2023 (officially filed on March 31, 2020) associated with the $55,000,000 investment that included a ‘pandemic response’ clause.
